Camping Fun

There are many activites to be enjoyed at camp grounds ranging from fishing to horseback riding. An easy way to find out what the campground you are going has to offer is to check out the parks' website. For example, if you live in California go to www.parks.ca.gov. and click on the camp ground you want to visit, then you can view what activities (in most cases) that park offers. Some activites may have an additional fee to the nightly campsite rate. You can investigate this when you are visiting your state parks' website.
Many camp grounds have brooks, streams, or even lakes where you can fish. Just remember to have a licesene, because it is required by state law (in most states). There are many places where you can also enjoy hiking and backpacking. However, it is generally not recommended for the novice hiker to stray off the beaten path and it is important to know the animals that inhabit the area you are visiting. This information can be found on your state park website, and, in addition, the information is available at the park you are visiting.
It is a very good idea to know what animals are present at the facility you are visiting in order to avoid any contact with the creature. Remember, not all animals are friendly to people and you are a visitor in their habitats. Dominate animals can be very aggressive when you approach their domain or if they feel threatened. Awareness is essential when having a good time on your camping trip.
